1. Who we are, and what this site is

Mills Story House is a digital publishing studio for serialized romance and dark fantasy. This website is a promotional showcase. We do not sell books directly here. Every title is bought, borrowed, and read on Amazon, and those transactions are between you and Amazon under Amazon’s own terms.

Our books are works of fiction. Characters, places, institutions, and events are invented or used fictitiously, and any resemblance to real people, living or dead, is coincidental. Depicting a scenario is not endorsing it. Fantasy content is not advice, instruction, or encouragement to do anything in the real world, and all fictional characters depicted in intimate situations are adults.

4. Acceptable use

You may read, browse, and share links to this site freely. You agree not to:

• Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Copy, reproduce, republish, sell, or redistribute our books or site content except as section 5 allows.
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the site, or use automated systems to collect content or email addresses from it — including for the purpose of training machine-learning or generative AI systems.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting, or any connected system; probe or test its security; or interfere with its normal operation.
• Submit anything through our forms that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit involving minors, infringing of anyone’s rights, or that contains malware.
• Impersonate anyone, or submit someone else’s email address without their permission.
• Use the site or our newsletter to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.

We may block access, remove content, or discontinue any part of the site at any time, without notice, if we believe these terms have been broken.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this site — the text, book titles and covers, the Mills Story House name and logo, imprint names, artwork, layout, and code — is owned by Mills Story House or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our books are protected in the same way wherever they are sold.

You may view the site, and quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back, for review, commentary, news reporting, or similar fair-use purposes. Everything else — reproducing our books or artwork, creating derivative works, using our names or logos commercially, or using our content to train an AI model — requires our written permission. Ask at editor@millsstoryhouse.com.

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email editor@millsstoryhouse.com with a description of the work, where the material appears, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We investigate every notice we receive.

6. What you send us

Our “Tell us what to write next” form invites story ideas, tropes, and suggestions. We read everything, and we love it — but please understand how it works:

• Submissions are not confidential and no confidential relationship is created by sending one.
• Ideas, plots, tropes, and premises are not protected by copyright, and we and other writers may already be working on something similar or may develop something similar independently.
• By submitting, you grant Mills Story House a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, adapt, and publish your submission and any idea in it, in any medium, without compensation, credit, or any obligation to you.
• You confirm the submission is your own and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
• If you do not want us to have those rights, please do not send it.

7. Links to Amazon and other third-party sites

This site links to Amazon and to third-party platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Those sites are not under our control. We provide the links for convenience and do not endorse, and are not responsible for, their content, products, terms, privacy practices, availability, or pricing. Once you follow a link away from millsstoryhouse.com, these terms stop applying and the destination site’s terms take over.

All purchases, Kindle Unlimited borrows, pre-orders, deliveries, refunds, and customer service for our books are handled by Amazon, not by us. Prices, availability, and release dates are set and displayed on Amazon and can change without notice. We are not a party to your transaction with Amazon.

8. No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that defects will be corrected; that the site is free of viruses or other harmful components; or that any information on it is accurate, complete, or current. Content may be out of date, and cover art, titles, and release dates may change.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mills Story House and anyone working with it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or connected with your use of — or inability to use — this site, our content, or any linked third-party site. This applies however the claim arises, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. In those places, the exclusions and limits above apply only to the extent the law permits, and nothing in these terms affects rights you have that cannot be waived, including your statutory consumer rights in the UK and EU.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mills Story House from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site, your breach of these terms, or anything you submit through our forms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Mills Story House agree that any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you are a consumer resident in the UK or the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence or of the right to bring proceedings there.

12. General

• Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
• Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Survival. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 11 survive any end to your use of the site.

13. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time. The revised version takes effect when we post it here, and we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Please check back from time to time. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
